Come Enjoy Family Fun Day on June 4th!

Let the summer fun begin! The first day of summer hasn’t officially arrived yet, but when school is out and the weather is warm it’s time for summer fun. Mingo County Partners in Prevention led by the Mingo County Family Resource Network will be hosting Family Fun Day on Friday, June 4, 2021 beginning at 6:00pm at the Williamson softball field located in West Williamson, West Virginia. It’ll be a great day you can enjoy with family and friends!

All ages are invited to attend Family Fun Day. There’s going to be lots of fun activities and events including an inflatable obstacle course, field games, and face painting. At 6:15pm, attendees can try yoga with Downtown Yoga instructor/owner Heather Wolford and at 7:00pm, you’ll have a chance to try Zumba with Zumba by Joy. A fitness circuit will be set up, blood pressure checks on-site, and community resource tables will be available. Also, food will be served while supplies last and several prize drawings! All activities and food will be free!

At 8:30pm, everyone is invited to bring a chair or blanket and settle in to watch The Sandlot. This family friendly summer movie classic will have everyone ready to play a game of baseball. Free popcorn and chocolate will be provided while supplies last as the movie begins.

Mingo County Family Resource Network Executive Director Amy Hannah says, “It is important to host events that are geared towards spending time together as a family unit, whatever that may look like for you and yours. Our children and our adults need socialization with others, and this is a great way to begin to do that again. Also, who doesn't like to celebrate the end of school and the beginning of summer?!”

We agree with Amy! We hope to see you at Family Fun Day on June 4th!

You can find more information by following the Mingo County Family Resource Network Facebook page.

**In case of inclement weather or poor field conditions due to prior rain, all events will be moved inside of the Williamson Field House, also located in West Williamson, West Virginia.
