It’s Hatfield McCoy Marathon Weekend!

Since 2000, the Tug Valley Road Runners Club has been celebrating West Virginia history with the world renowned Hatfield-McCoy Marathon. In the (more than 20!) years that followed, total runners have leapt from 13 to more than 1,000, and the race has gained plenty of recognition for its unique and challenging course.

The marathon will take folks across West Virginia and Kentucky, and past some of the key sites associated with the Hatfield-McCoy Feud. These sites include gravesites and homes of members of the families, as well as other unique spots. Runners can register for either the full HM Marathon, the River Road Half or the Blackberry Mountain Half, or the associated Jeannie Rivard 5k.

Are you a Hatfield or a McCoy?

After registration, runners will be assigned to either the Hatfield or McCoy “clan”, and earn some bragging rights if their clan is found to be the fastest. Runners who finish the marathon will also get the treat of a beautiful finisher medal.

For those running the full Hatfield McCoy Marathon, it will begin Saturday, June 11 at 7am, from the parking lot of Food City, in South Williamson, Kentucky. To learn more about this event and register, visit their website or Facebook page now!
