Matewan, West Virginia is looking to raise some cash to replace worn out awnings throughout town. Rather than opt for a more traditional fundraiser, community members have come together to host a guided ATV poker run!
Coming Together To Support the Community
The guided ATV poker run is scheduled for Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 10:00am to 2:00pm. During the poker run, riders will spend $50.00 per hand and will try to collect the best hand of the ride! It will be the area’s first poker run, and organizers are excited to see how folks come together for this. “Events like these allow participants to have fun while coming together to support community efforts,” say the Matewan Depot Replica Museum and Welcome Center staff, who have been heavily involved with this event. “All are welcome to join us!”
Organizers are hoping to raise $15,000 dollars for the beautification project, and the winner will receive a $1,000 prize. In addition to the grand prize, several other prizes will be awarded to the top hands of the ride. Want to participate and try your hand at winning? Registration is open now! To register or get more information, call 304-426-5744, or visit the Facebook event page!
All riders should register no later than 9:30am on the day of the poker run.
If you can’t make it to the ride, but would like to contribute to the fundraiser, donations are appreciated and are 100% tax deductible.
