For as long as the Williamson Farmers Market has been around, it’s drawn some talented musicians to do a little unofficial “pickin and grinnin”, says Kristin Brewer-Deboard Marketing and Nutrition Manager for the Williamson Farmers Market. In 2019, the market decided to give these guys a little spotlight of their own, and bring in some new and diverse talents, with Music at the Market.
“We will have music every third Saturday,” Kristin says. “With different musicians that are all local!”
Helping A Community Blossom
They hope to see little events like this help the community blossom. “We just want people to come listen and hang out,” Kristin says. “We want to be a community gathering spot, not just a place to buy your tomatoes, but a place to enjoy your little community, and its residents.” She hopes to see folks “pulling up a chair and just sitting with us for a few hours.”
Organizers also hope that this event will help local musical talent get more exposure, and share their music with their community. If you’re looking to hear some music while you grab your tomatoes, check out Music at the Market! Music at the Market will take place every third Saturday starting June 19.
