To Market, To Market, We Go!

Market Days are finally here! The Williamson Farmer’s Market returns Saturday, May 25th in their new location at 99 West 3rd Avenue. If you’re not sure where that is, its in the lot next to City Gym. Market hours are 9am-2pm with special activities happening throughout the day.

“We are so excited for this year’s market. We have a new location, will have a more permanent structure, great vendors, and a super packed event schedule! Lots of goodies are growing for the market, “says Maria Arnot, Director of Community Agriculture for Williamson Health and Wellness Center.

Food, Music, Art, and Friends!

According to Kristen DeBoard, Marketing and Nutrition Manager for Williamson Health and Wellness Center, the market will have ten vendors set up with fresh veggies, baked goods, local honey, and handmade quilts.

Kristen adds, “Students from Lenore will be at the market selling food from their raised garden beds, which is cool.”

If you arrive hungry, Fat Boy Taco Food Truck will be there! The truck will be open 11 a.m. until the sellout. The food is delicious! Word on the street is, the truck will likely open a little earlier than 11 a.m., so you should come earlier too!

Alex Blankenship of Gilbert, West Virginia will kick off the music at the market series. Alex will be sharing his music from 11am-1pm. To get a preview of Alex’s music, his album, “Waves” is available now on iTunes.

Local artist Staci Gilliam will be working on the Williamson Farmers Market Wall Mural located at the market. Come talk with Staci about the mural, take pictures, and watch art in the making!

Bring your chair, grab your friends, and come to the market! It’s a great way to support the local community, visit with others, and get your fresh foods for the grill this weekend!

The Williamson Farmer’s Market is where it’s at! We’ll see you there!
