Community Cooking Class: Learn to Cook Irish Boxty

Nearly everyone loves potatoes! Ask your neighbor or your best friend what their favorite way to eat a potato is, and we guarantee a debate will begin about fried vs. mashed, and tater tots vs. french fries. Rather than debate about it, you could join the community cooking class the Williamson Farmers Market will be hosting this month, where you can learn to make some of the best potatoes ever!

During the class, participants will learn to cook traditional Irish Boxty, described by the market staff as a potato dish with an amazing sauce. Irish Boxty is a traditional Irish potato pancake, typically prepared with grated raw potatoes and flour. Boxty has become a popular dish around the world, especially as interest in traditional Irish cuisine grows.

If you’d like to try making this crispy potato pancake, head over to City Gym on 3rd Avenue in Williamson on March 29th at 5:30 pm to join the cooking class. Tickets are only $5.00, and are available via their Facebook event page. This might become your new favorite way to eat potatoes!
