On October 8th and 9th, the town of Matewan will be full of even more excitement than usual, with their fall homecoming. The festivities will kick off on Friday, October 8th, with food trucks and vendors in town from 5pm to 10pm. The evening will also see a performance from an Elvis Entertainer at 7:30pm.
On Saturday, October 9th, the festivities will be in full swing, starting at 8am, when the Tiger Run 5K and 1 mile walk begins. (Registration for the event will begin at 7am.) Live entertainment will be present in the pavilion from 10 am to 2pm, followed by the Lincoln County Cloggers at 1:30.
A painting class sponsored by the Healthy in the Hills network will take place from noon to 2pm, and the parade will start at 4pm. Vendors and food trucks, as well as inflatables, will be open throughout the day. The event will close up with fireworks at 9:30 pm.
