WIlliamson is growing! As new businesses continue to open and new events happen, it can be hard to keep track of everything going on in the area. That’s why Williamson Health and Wellness Center and the Mingo County Family Resource Center used a grant from the Pallotine Foundation, an initiative supporting health and community oriented work, to create the MinGOWV calendar.
The calendar is described by Amy Dearfield Hannah, executive director for FRN, as an online platform to create a community calendar for where local area families can see what is happening. It was created to provide a location for community partners to publish events.
The site features a variety of events in the area, as well as some short video clips from local partners describing what they do and how to contact them. Amy, who led the project, hopes to see folks stay more aware of what is happening across local communities, and increase participation.
